Earlier this week, I made pizza for dinner and had a couple of requests for the recipe. This is a quick and easy meal to make so I thought, “Why not post it on the blog?” Everyone appreciates a simple but tasty recipe, right? I actually got the idea for this from a local brick oven pizza restaurant. It’s my favorite pizza of theirs and I thought it was simple enough that I could make it home. I tried it out and It’s pretty darn close. The best part is being able to heap on the toppings!
I don’t have any pictures other than the one I Instagrammed, so here it is! Look at all that cheesy, drizzly goodness!
I love fresh basil and mozzarella and that's what gives this easy to make pizza such flavor! Prep and cook time takes about 20-25 minutes so you'll have food on the table in no time. My husband is a slab of meat-eater, so if something like this pleases his palette, you know it's good!
You Need:
Prepared pizza crust (like Boboli)
6 strips of turkey bacon*, fry in pan and cut into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces
8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced to about 1/4 in thickness or less
7 – 8 fresh basil leaves, sliced into strips
2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
1/2 cup pasta sauce of your choice
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
What to do:
Heat oven according to pizza crust instructions. Brush olive oil on the pizza crust then spread pasta sauce on the crust. Top with mozzarella first, then add turkey bacon, basil and tomatoes. I also drizzle more olive oil on top, but that’s just me. 
Put on a baking pan or pizza pan and place in oven for 10 minutes or until top of pizza is bubbly.
That’s all there is to it! It’s so easy but it tastes SO good.
*You can also substitute the turkey bacon with chicken breast strips, shrimp, prosciutto – depending in what you feel like having or have on hand.
