Patience Pays AKA The Way I Shop
- I buy what I don’t need when it goes on sale at a rock bottom price. This works for groceries and the necessities at home (paper towels, TP, toothpaste, cleaning products, bath products, etc.).
- I’ve loved Southern Savers for it’s ease of use (you can print a custom grocery list with coupon matchups). This method definitely takes patience and is time consuming. You have to buy Sunday Newspapers and then clip coupons to match the items that are on sale. This only works if you have time to pre-plan your shopping trip. But it works. I’ve saved as much as 75% on a trip.
- With the drugstore programs like CVS Extracare Bucks, Rite Aid Rebate and UP rewards and Walgreens Register Rewards, I can even get away with paying NOTHING out of pocket.
Hair Help
I USED to have thick, shiny hair but as I’ve aged, it’s thinned out and is not nearly as full as it used to be. Having two kids didn’t help either. Did you know that the hair loss doesn’t start until a few months AFTER you’ve had the baby? Well, at least for me, it didn’t. My hair fell out in huge clumps a few months postpartum. It gave me the chills to see how much was hitting the shower floor and falling out in my hands.
As a result of this, I’ve gone from long hair to short hair. And I don’t care what anybody says, long hair is so much more manageable than short hair. With short hair, you HAVE to blow dry with a round brush and flat iron, especially if you have layers. There’s no getting around it since even a ponytail is out of the question (depending on hair length).
It’s a Marshmallow World!
